Moch Hasrul, artists based in Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia. I have finished my studies with a major in art education (B.Ed.) at the State University of Jakarta. Now, I continued my studies at the Bandung Institute of Technology, magister of fine arts department. I’m a member of Serrum an organization focused on pedagogy and art.
My interest in the work is the use of technology and challenges. That technology is a result of human culture. Basically, I use the video as a medium for artistic presentation. I assume that the video has properties based on the time, a video is a process from one point to another. Video provides a strong enough impression on the audience. Video has a challenge for me as a smelter video can get into other media.
Usually I produce videos in different ways such as the use of cameras as a frame, reconstruc- tion and deconstruction of available records, other media construct as a supporting element, and other things that I was able to use to express my ideas.
Now, I’m trying to explore other mediums, such as the use of the microcontroller, computing devices and simplest technology. For me, the use of mediums is an artificial intelligence, in which the boundaries between humans and technology are increasingly blur to apply.
And art need to be present as a critical reflection on the phenomenon that humans created. The phenomenon of the relationship between humans and technology. Because the tech- nology represents human culture, which is closely related to the social, political and human civilization itself.
